ORDER LEPIDOPTERA
Scale-eating Moths
Genus Laetilia
The genus Laetilia is a group of moths within the family Pyralidae, more specifically in the subfamily Phycitinae and the tribe Phycitini. These moths are commonly known as scale-eating moths, and their larvae exhibit a unique feeding behavior. Unlike most moth larvae, which feed on plant material, the larvae of Laetilia moths feed on the scales of other insects, particularly those of planthoppers and leafhoppers.
