Family Passeridae is the family of Old World sparrows, a group of small, stout-bodied seed-eating songbirds found throughout Europe, Asia, Africa, and many other regions where several species have been introduced by humans. Members of this family are characterized by their conical bills adapted for cracking seeds, compact bodies, and generally brown, gray, black, and white plumage that provides effective camouflage in a variety of habitats.
