The family Turdidae, commonly known as the thrushes, is a widespread family of medium-sized songbirds found throughout much of the world, including North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia. Thrushes typically have plump bodies, relatively long legs, and straight, slender bills adapted for feeding on insects, earthworms, fruits, and berries.
