Parrots (Order Psittaciformes)
Order Psittaciformes is the order of birds commonly known as parrots, parakeets, macaws, conures, and amazons. These birds are characterized by strong, curved bills, upright posture, and zygodactyl feet with two toes pointing forward and two backward, adaptations that provide excellent climbing and grasping ability. Most species are highly intelligent, social, and vocal, feeding primarily on fruits, seeds, nuts, flowers, and buds. Worldwide, the order contains more than 400 species, with its greatest diversity occurring in tropical and subtropical regions.
