Solenopsis geminata, commonly known as the tropical fire ant or ginger ant, is a species of stinging ant found in tropical and subtropical regions. Typically reddish-brown to orange. Major workers have notably large heads relative to their body size, adapted for defense and seed-cracking. They are highly aggressive and territorial, readily attacking intruders with painful stings.
