Siproeta stelenes
The Malachite (Siproeta stelenes) is a spectacular butterfly in the Nymphalidae family, celebrated for its striking green and brown coloration. Named after the green mineral malachite. The Malachite thrives in tropical and subtropical forests, forest edges, and gardens. Caterpillars are dark brown or black with orange or yellow markings and spines, making them resemble bird droppings for camouflage.
