Genus Lerema is a genus of grass skippers in the family Hesperiidae, distributed from the southern United States through Mexico, Central America, and into parts of South America. These small to medium-sized butterflies are typically brown, tan, or orange-brown with subtle pale spots and markings that provide camouflage among grasses and low vegetation. Like other skippers, they possess sturdy bodies, hooked antennae, and a rapid, darting flight. Lerema species are most commonly associated with grasslands, savannas, roadsides, open woodlands, agricultural areas, and tropical dry forests. Adults frequently visit flowers for nectar and often perch on grass stems or low shrubs.
