Genus Amblyscirtes is a large genus of small skipper butterflies in the family Hesperiidae. Commonly known as roadside skippers, these butterflies are typically brown, gray-brown, or dark chocolate in color, often marked with small pale or translucent spots on the wings. Their subdued coloration provides excellent camouflage among grasses, leaf litter, and woodland vegetation. Adults are fast-flying and frequently perch on low plants, bare ground, or sunlit leaves, where they can be difficult to spot.
