Genus Melete is a genus of elegant white butterflies in the subfamily Pierinae of the family Pieridae, distributed from Mexico and Central America through much of tropical South America. These medium-sized butterflies are typically white or creamy white with delicate gray, brown, or black markings along the wing margins and veins. Many species inhabit humid tropical forests, cloud forests, forest edges, and secondary growth, where adults often fly slowly and gracefully through shaded clearings and along woodland trails.
