Phyllopsora (Genus)

Description
Phyllopsora is a genus of foliose to squamulose lichens in the family Ramalinaceae. Species form small, leafy, scale-like, or lobed thalli that may be greenish, grey-green, yellowish, or brownish. Many have delicate, overlapping lobes or squamules and fine, powdery reproductive structures, giving the thallus a textured appearance.
Range
Phyllopsora has a broad distribution, with its greatest diversity in tropical and subtropical regions. Species occur throughout the Americas, including Mexico and Guerrero, and Phyllopsora may be encountered around Zihuatanejo where suitable humid, shaded substrates are present.
Habitat
Species commonly grow on bark, mosses, and occasionally rock, particularly in humid forests and shaded woodland. In tropical regions they are often found on tree trunks and branches, especially in sheltered locations with relatively high humidity and limited direct sunlight.
