Stagmomantis limbata, common name Arizona mantis, is a species of praying mantis native to North America. All mantids are predators and all of them are specialists in ambushing prey. Uses its spiked raptorial forelegs to snatch and hold prey while consuming it alive. Mating involves a risk for the male, as the female may cannibalize him during or after copulation.
