Cardites grayi is a species of bivalve mollusk in the family Carditidae. These bivalves are small to medium-sized and are typically found in marine environments. Thick and somewhat rectangular or oval in shape, with a sculptured surface featuring distinct radial ribs. Lives in sandy or muddy substrates in shallow coastal waters, often burrowing slightly for protection. A filter feeder that extracts plankton and organic particles from the surrounding water.
