Jenner's Cowrie
Jenneria pustulata
The Jenner’s cowrie (Jenneria pustulata) is a small marine snail in the cowrie family (Cypraeidae) characterized by its elongated shell covered in raised, wart-like pustules that give it a rough texture unlike the glossy shells of most cowries. Typically measuring about 2–4 cm in length, its shell is cream to light brown with darker orange spotting, and it has a long, narrow aperture lined with fine teeth. This species occurs in the eastern Pacific Ocean from California to Peru, where it inhabits rocky intertidal and shallow subtidal zones.
