Adult Hydriris moths typically have an inconspicuous wing pattern, with colors ranging from brown to ochre. Adults are typically active during dusk or at night when they fly to seek mates and food sources. The larvae feed primarily on plants of the morning glory family (Convolvulaceae), including sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas) and field bindweed (Convolvulus arvensis).
