The genus Idaea is a large and widespread group of moths in the family Geometridae, commonly known as wave moths due to the wavy or scalloped lines that often decorate their delicate wings. These moths are typically small and slender, with wingspans ranging from about 10 to 30 millimeters, and their coloration tends to be pale—often white, beige, or light brown—helping them blend into their surroundings. Idaea moths are nocturnal and are frequently attracted to lights at night.
