Cribraria
Cribraria (Genus)
Cribraria is a genus of delicate, netted slime molds (plasmodial myxomycetes) known for their tiny, stalked fruiting bodies that look like miniature wire cages or lanterns. Very small—typically 0.5–2 mm tall. A thin stalk supporting a round or egg-shaped spore case. Often shades of brown, red-brown, copper, or dark purple. Prefers moist forest environments and is usually found on decaying wood, especially well-rotted logs. Often appears in clusters on shaded, damp wood.
