Birds of Zihuatanejo

CLASS AVES

Zihuatanejo, on Mexico's Pacific coast in the state of Guerrero, is one of the richest birding areas on the country's western coast because it combines tropical dry forest, mangroves, coastal lagoons, beaches, rocky islands, wetlands, and foothill forests within a relatively small area. These diverse habitats support hundreds of bird species, including both resident tropical birds and migratory species from North America.
