Blue-collared Firetip
Mysoria amra
-
The Blue-collared Firetip (Mysoria amra) is a striking species of skipper butterfly found primarily in western Mexico and Guatemala. It typically features dark (often black or deep iridescent blue) wings that serve as a backdrop for its most distinctive feature—a vibrant blue collar or band around the neck area. Like other firetips, it often possesses bright red or orange "tips" on the end of the abdomen, providing a sharp contrast to its darker body.
