​Mysoria firetips are a group of robust skipper butterflies in the genus Mysoria, belonging to the family Hesperiidae. Found primarily in Mexico, Central America, and parts of South America, these butterflies are associated with tropical dry forests, thorn scrub, woodland edges, and other warm, open habitats. They are typically dark brown to black with contrasting pale spots and often display orange, reddish, or yellowish markings near the base of the wings or body, giving rise to the common name “firetip.” Like other skippers, they are powerful, fast fliers that frequently visit flowers for nectar and perch on sunlit vegetation.
