SUPERFAMILY PAPILIONOIDEA

Florida White

Glutophrissa drusilla

Glutophrissa drusilla, commonly known as the Florida White, is a graceful butterfly in the family Pieridae. The upper side is mostly bright white, while the underside often shows a soft yellow or greenish tint, especially along the hindwings. Females may show slightly more extensive dark markings than males. Its flight is strong and fluttering, typical of pierid butterflies, and it is often seen moving steadily through open areas.
This species is found in the southern United States, Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean, inhabiting open habitats such as fields, coastal areas, gardens, and disturbed sites. Adults frequently visit flowers for nectar and may travel considerable distances.
