Paiwarria umbratus
Paiwarria umbratus occurs from Mexico through Central America and into South America, inhabiting tropical and subtropical forests, forest edges, and wooded clearings. Like many hairstreaks, it is often seen perching quietly in shaded areas or making short, rapid flights, and its caterpillars are associated with woody host plants, reflecting the species’ close ties to forested habitats.
