Tribe Pericharini

Tribe Pericharini is a small but distinctive group of skipper butterflies in the family Hesperiidae that occurs primarily in the tropical and subtropical regions of the Americas, including southern Mexico. These butterflies are generally small to medium-sized, with robust bodies, rapid flight, and wings marked with combinations of brown, black, orange, yellow, or translucent white spots. Pericharini species are most often encountered in tropical forests, forest edges, clearings, and secondary growth, where adults visit flowers for nectar and bask in patches of sunlight.
