Tribe Oileidini is a group of spread-wing skipper butterflies in the family Hesperiidae that is well represented in Mexico, particularly in warm tropical and subtropical regions. Members of this tribe are generally small to medium-sized butterflies with stout bodies, rapid flight, and wings that are often held flat when at rest. Their coloration is typically brown, gray, black, or reddish-brown, frequently marked with translucent white spots or bands that aid in species recognition. Oileidini species inhabit a variety of environments, including tropical dry forests, thorn scrub, woodland edges, grasslands, and disturbed habitats.
