Genus Lerodea is a genus of small to medium-sized grass skippers in the family Hesperiidae, found from the southern United States through Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean, and into South America. Members of this genus are typically brown, grey-brown, or tan with subtle pale spots and markings that blend well with grassy surroundings. Like other skippers, they have robust bodies, hooked antennae, and a rapid, darting flight. Lerodea species inhabit grasslands, savannas, roadsides, agricultural fields, coastal dunes, and tropical dry forests, where adults frequently visit flowers for nectar and often perch on grass stems or low vegetation.
