Grass Skipper Butterflies of Zihuatanejo

GENUS ANCYLOXYPHA

Genus Ancyloxypha is a genus of small skipper butterflies in the family Hesperiidae. These butterflies are among the smallest skippers and are easily recognized by their compact bodies, rapid darting flight, and warm orange, yellow-orange, or tawny coloration often accented with darker wing borders. Members of the genus are closely associated with grassy habitats, including marshes, wet meadows, roadside ditches, grasslands, and open woodland clearings.
