Genus Aguna is a genus of medium-sized skipper butterflies in the family Hesperiidae, distributed from Mexico and the southern United States through Central America and into South America. Aguna species are characterized by their swift, powerful flight, dark brown to black wing coloration, and often prominent translucent or pale spots on the forewings. Many species also possess elongated hindwing tails, giving them a distinctive appearance among skippers. Adults are typically found in tropical forests, woodland edges, secondary growth, and tropical dry forests, where they visit flowers for nectar and frequently perch on sunlit leaves.
