Subfamily Eudaminae is a diverse group of skipper butterflies (family Hesperiidae) that is well represented in Mexico, particularly in tropical and subtropical regions. Commonly known as the long-tailed skippers and their relatives, these butterflies are characterized by their streamlined bodies, powerful flight, and, in many species, elongated tail-like projections on the hindwings. Eudaminae inhabit a wide variety of environments, including tropical rainforests, dry forests, cloud forests, woodland edges, and gardens, where adults frequently visit flowers for nectar and perch in sunny openings.
