Brazilian Morning Glory is a perennial, evergreen, semi woody species native from Mexico to Southamerica. Ipomoea setosa produces showy pale lilac flowers, palmately lobed leaves and shoots with stiff coarse hairs. In Mexico it is found in humid areas of the Pacific coast region. It develops mainly in sub-falling and deciduous tropical forest. It thrives at an altitude of 50 to 600 m. It blooms from August to December.
