Halimeda tuna
Halimeda inhabit a range of marine habitats from sandy bottom areas to rocky reef structures, and have been reported from depths up to 150 meters (500 feet). Halimeda is known for its rapid growth rate and the accompanying deposits of calcium carbonate. These algae have been found to be the primary reef-building organism in some tropical seas.
