Green Algae of Zihuatanejo

ORDER BRYOPSIDALES

Order Bryopsidales is an order of marine green algae within the class Ulvophyceae, comprising a diverse group of predominantly tropical and subtropical species. Members of this order are distinguished by their siphonous or coenocytic thalli, in which the algal body consists of a single giant multinucleate cell lacking cross walls, although it may be highly branched and structurally complex. The thallus often shows remarkable differentiation into root-like, stem-like, and leaf-like regions, giving many species a plant-like appearance.
