Genus Paragrilus

Paragrilus is a genus of jewel beetles in the family Buprestidae, subfamily Agrilinae. The have a metallic exoskeleton and association with woody habitats. The larvae develop as wood-borers, feeding on the phloem or cambium layers of host trees.They create zig-zag or serpentine galleries under the bark, which can girdle small branches or stems.
