The genus Lampetis belongs to the family Buprestidae, commonly known as jewel beetles. Commonly associated with forests, woodlands, and savannas, where they depend on specific host plants. Adults feed on nectar, pollen, or foliage. Larvae are wood-borers, feeding on the inner bark and sapwood of host trees.
