Brachyplatys subaeneus (Black Bean Bug) is a species of shield bugs belonging to the family Plataspidae. As with most stink bugs, Brachyplatys subaeneus feeds on the sap of plants. It uses its piercing-sucking mouthparts to extract fluids from various herbaceous plants and shrubs. This feeding can lead to the weakening of plants, resulting in yellowing, wilting, and stunted growth.
