Dysodius is a genus of flat bugs in the family Aradidae, a group of true bugs (order Hemiptera) known for their extremely flattened bodies. Members of this genus have very thin, dorsoventrally flattened bodies that allow them to live in narrow spaces beneath loose bark, inside decaying logs, or within fungal growth. Their coloration is typically dark brown to grayish, often mottled or textured, helping them blend in with bark and decomposing wood. Like other flat bugs, they have piercing-sucking mouthparts used to feed, not on plant sap like many other true bugs, but primarily on fungi and fungal hyphae associated with rotting wood.
