Pangaeus bilineatus, commonly known as the two-lined burrowing bug, is a small, dark true bug in the family Cydnidae. It is typically oval, shiny black or dark brown. This species is well adapted for life underground. It has strong, spiny forelegs specialized for digging, allowing it to burrow into soil where it spends much of its time. Unlike many surface-dwelling bugs, P. bilineatus is usually found beneath leaf litter or within the soil, especially in dry or sandy habitats. Using its piercing-sucking mouthparts, it feeds on roots and underground plant parts, occasionally emerging to feed on seeds or low vegetation.
