Polydamas Swallowtail
Battus polydamas
The Polydamas Swallowtail (Battus polydamas), belonging to the family Papilionidae. Notably, it lacks the characteristic tails seen in many other swallowtails, making it distinctive within its group. Velvety black with a row of yellow or gold spots forming a band across both the forewings and hindwings.
Underside: Similar black base color, but with additional red-orange markings near the hindwing margins.
