Tribe Troidini is a striking group of swallowtail butterflies (family Papilionidae) represented in Mexico by several large and colourful species inhabiting tropical forests, woodland edges, and subtropical habitats. Commonly known as birdwings and cattlehearts, members of this tribe are among the largest butterflies in the Americas and are recognized by their powerful flight, broad wings, and bold patterns of black, yellow, green, red, or pink.
