Tribe Morphini is a group of large, striking brush-footed butterflies (family Nymphalidae) represented in Mexico by several forest-dwelling species, including the spectacular White Morpho, Morpho polyphemus. Found primarily in tropical forests of southern and eastern Mexico, Morphini butterflies are known for their powerful, gliding flight and large wings that can span more than 12 cm.
