Tribe Limenitidini is a diverse group of brush-footed butterflies (family Nymphalidae) that occurs throughout Mexico in habitats ranging from temperate pine-oak forests and cloud forests to tropical woodlands and forest edges. Members of this tribe are generally medium-sized butterflies with broad wings marked by combinations of black, brown, orange, blue, or white bands and spots. Many species are strong fliers that glide and soar through woodland habitats, often feeding on tree sap, rotting fruit, animal dung, and occasionally flowers.
