Genus Anteos is a genus of large, fast-flying sulphur butterflies in the subfamily Coliadinae of the family Pieridae, distributed from the southern United States and Mexico through Central America, the Caribbean, and much of South America. Commonly known as the angled sulphurs, these butterflies are among the largest members of the Pieridae and are characterized by elongated, angular forewings, powerful flight, and bright yellow, greenish-yellow, or white coloration. Their undersides often resemble leaves, providing excellent camouflage when they are at rest. Adults are strong migratory fliers that can travel considerable distances and are frequently seen soaring high above open habitats, tropical dry forests, woodland edges, roadsides, and gardens.
