Genus Telegonus
Genus Telegonus is a genus of large, robust skipper butterflies in the family Hesperiidae, distributed from the southern United States and Mexico through Central America and into South America. Members of this genus are characterized by powerful flight, dark brown to black wings often marked with translucent white, yellowish, or bluish spots, and in some species, elongated hindwing tails. They inhabit tropical forests, woodland edges, secondary growth, and tropical dry forests, where adults visit flowers for nectar and patrol sunny clearings with rapid, purposeful flight.
