Brown Algae of Zihuatanejo

TRIBE DICTYOTEAE

Members of this tribe are marine brown algae characterized by flattened, parenchymatous thalli that commonly exhibit regular dichotomous branching and a ribbon-like or fan-shaped appearance. They are widely distributed in tropical, subtropical, and warm-temperate coastal waters, where they grow attached to rocks, coral rubble, and other hard substrates.
