ORDER ROSALES

Flowers by Colour

Order Rosales is a large and economically important order of flowering plants (angiosperms) comprising more than 9,000 species distributed throughout tropical, subtropical, and temperate regions of the world. Members include herbs, shrubs, vines, and trees that inhabit forests, grasslands, wetlands, mountains, and cultivated landscapes. The order includes many of the world's most valuable fruit crops—such as apples, pears, peaches, cherries, plums, raspberries, blackberries, and strawberries—as well as ornamental roses, timber trees, medicinal plants, and fiber crops.
