The fruits of some Bunchosia species are edible and have earned members of the genus the common name peanut-butter fruit, although that name should not be assumed to apply specifically to this species.

Range

• Bunchosia palmeri is native to Mexico. It is native to Zihuatanejo, Guerrero, and the surrounding area.

Habitat

• It is associated with tropical vegetation and may occur in woodland, forest margins, and seasonally dry habitats. As with other members of its genus, it is a woody plant adapted to warm climates.
