ORDER CELASTRALES

Flowers by Colour

Order Celastrales is a small but ecologically important order of flowering plants (angiosperms) comprising approximately 1,400 species distributed mainly throughout tropical, subtropical, and temperate regions of the world. Members include trees, shrubs, woody vines, and a few herbaceous plants that inhabit forests, woodlands, scrublands, and mountainous regions. Ecologically, they provide nectar, fruits, and shelter for a variety of insects, birds, and mammals, while many woody vines contribute to forest structure.
