Description
• Coursetia caribaea is a perennial herb or small shrub in the legume family (Fabaceae). It has compound leaves composed of multiple small leaflets and produces clusters of pea-shaped flowers, typically pinkish, reddish, or purplish depending on the form. Its flowers develop into narrow legume pods containing several seeds. Like many legumes, it may form root associations with nitrogen-fixing bacteria.

• Coursetia caribaea is native to the Caribbean and parts of tropical America, including Mexico and Central America. It occurs in the tropical regions of western Mexico. It is native to Zihuatanejo, Guerrero, and the surrounding area.
Habitat
