Rhynchosia, commonly known as snoutbean, is a diverse genus in the Fabaceae (legume) family. They produce small, usually yellow flowers—sometimes marked with red or purple veins—arranged in clusters called racemes. The genus gets its name from the Greek word rhynchos, meaning "beak," referring to the distinctive short, curved "snout" found at the tip of their small, flattened, two-seeded pods.
