Zapoteca formosa is a species of flowering plant in the legume family, Fabaceae, native to parts of Central America and Mexico. It is a fast-growing, deciduous shrub or small tree, often valued for its ornamental qualities and ecological benefits. The plant features delicate, feathery, bipinnate leaves and produces showy, pink to purplish powder-puff-like flowers that attract pollinators such as bees and butterflies. These flowers are composed of long, threadlike stamens, giving them a soft, fluffy appearance.
