Family Nitidulidae comprises the sap beetles, a diverse family of small to medium-sized beetles in the order Coleoptera. Nitidulids are typically oval or somewhat flattened beetles, usually brown, black, yellow, or patterned with contrasting markings. Many species are recognized by their shortened wing covers, which often leave the tip of the abdomen exposed.
