Zopherus nodulosus is indeed a member of the Ironclad Beetles, which belong to the family Zopheridae. This species has a distinctly flattened, robust body with a broad head and heavily sclerotized (hardened) exoskeleton, a hallmark of ironclad beetles. Adults of Zopherus nodulosus are detritivores, feeding primarily on decaying wood and fungi.
